5.15 Explains the reason for the French and Indian
war and how it lead to overhaul of British policy and
colonial response.
5.17 Explain the major battles of the Revolution
explain factors leading to American Victory and
British defeat.
Objectives:
Cognitive: Students will recognize the importance of certain
events that lead to the Revolution and why America
went to war.
Behavioral: Students will raise hands during group discussion
and take notes.
Procedure: Will do a KWL chart on the American Revolution to
access prior knowledge.
Discuss the different events surrounding the American
Revolution through discussion and hand-outs
Students will take notes from board during discussion
Students will reflect each day on what was discussed and
what they learned about the Revolution by writing a one
page summary.
Assessment:
Informal: Ensure students are taking proper notes by walking
around the room.
Formal: Successful completion of 1 page summary after each
Day.
Extension
Activity: Students will have a reading comprehension each night
for homework to reinforce events and pass in for a
grade.
